Kate Moffat

I am a registered Naturopath and Clinical Nutritionist having practiced out of Dr Steve Joe Integrative Medicine since 2013.

Like many who work in this space, I came to natural medicine through my own health struggles. I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease at 20, after years of poor health. Unfortunately going gluten-free didn’t improve a lot of my symptoms. By addressing the root cause of my symptoms my health improved greatly. This opened my eyes to how much I was missing by focusing on nutrition alone, the rest is history.

While I consider myself versatile in the cases I handle, I hold a particular interest in hormonal imbalances, infertility, postpartum issues, digestive complaints, stress/burnout, anxiety, skin complaints and complex chronic cases. With my own experience of Coeliac disease, I've developed a specialisation in this area.

For me, identifying the root cause of illness is paramount. Various factors can throw our bodies off balance, including our increasingly busy and stressful lives, poor nutrient intake, exposure to environmental toxins, imbalanced microbiomes, and inadequate sleep. Over time, these factors can manifest as unwanted symptoms or illnesses.

A comprehensive treatment plan typically includes addressing lifestyle, emotional, and dietary factors and tackling underlying imbalances such as nutritional deficiencies and toxin overload, including mould exposure.

The care I provide is truly holistic and comprehensive.

I work with people of all ages right from newborns. I look forward to supporting you and your family through this journey of regaining health.

My point of difference

Having worked alongside Dr. Steve Joe since 2013, I have benefitted from daily clinical support and mentorship. This experience has enabled me to engage with highly complex cases, fostering a profound and comprehensive understanding of Integrative Medicine and Naturopathy that surpasses what I learned from formal study.

I use muscle testing to assess underlying drivers of symptoms and aid in supplement selection. While some may initially find this approach unconventional, those who have undergone testing and experienced the subsequent health improvements appreciate the specificity it offers.

Outside of work, you’ll find me in active wear being kept on my toes by two little ones and a boisterous dog. I enjoy reading fiction, spending time at the beach, riding my bike along the Waikato river trails, yoga, and my morning cup of coffee.

I am passionate about continued education and will often be found listening to a clinical podcast or webinar in my spare time.
